A message from our founder
My name is Tracey Ward, with more than 35 years of experience across community services, social welfare, advocacy, disability support, mental health, volunteer management, education, training, business development, and leadership, Tracey has dedicated her life to helping others reach their potential and overcome barriers that prevent them from living fulfilling lives.
Throughout her career, she has witnessed both the strengths and challenges within community support systems. She recognised that many individuals and families need more than temporary assistance—they need connection, opportunity, education, support, and a community that believes in them.
A key focus of the Foundation is recognising the immense value, knowledge, and experience held by retired and semi-retired members of our community. Many skilled individuals possess a lifetime of practical expertise, craftsmanship, trade knowledge, professional experience, and wisdom that can be shared with future generations. Our programs are designed to create meaningful opportunities for these individuals to remain active, connected, valued, and appreciated while teaching, mentoring, and passing on their skills to others. Through workshops, training, community projects, and hands-on learning experiences, participants are empowered to develop confidence, practical life skills, employment pathways, and a stronger sense of belonging.
Each program has been strategically designed to complement and support the next, creating interconnected opportunities that strengthen both individuals and the wider community. Wherever possible, community enterprises and social enterprise initiatives will be incorporated into programs to generate sustainable income, support ongoing operations, and create long-term benefits for participants, members, and the communities we serve.
This model reflects Tracey's vision of building self-sustaining communities where people support one another, share their talents, create opportunities, and contribute to a brighter future for all.
ToWard Futures Foundation was born from a long-held vision to create safe, supportive, and sustainable communities where people can rebuild their lives, develop new skills, contribute their talents, and experience a true sense of belonging.
